The Foundation Stage
Welcome to our Foundation Stage
Mrs Robertson & Mrs Gorman
At St. Mary's, our EYFS department consists of one Reception class where children attend in the morning. We provide children with a challenging, stimulating, fun environment underpinned by a strong Catholic ethos.
The EYFS department has recently been re-furbished and is set in the grounds adjacent to the school with large indoor and outdoor provision.
We work in partnership with our parents to ensure that our children feel safe, secure and enjoy learning within a loving and happy environment.
The children are taught a broad and balanced curriculum which is drawn from the EYFS and Development Matters documents written by the DFE. Activities are planned using a thematic approach and incorporate both adult led and child initiated activities.
- safe, secure indoor/outdoor environments in which your child can learn and play;
- 3 fully trained up to date staff including 1 qualified teacher;
- Ofsted registered;
- strongly supported by the church and Lancashire County Council.
If you would like your child to attend our Nursery then you are welcome to contact the school office to arrange a visit and we will be more than happy to show you around.
You can pick up our application form from the school office.
We hope to see you soon,
Mrs Robertson (Foundation Stage Teacher) & Mrs Gorman
Reception’s Nativity Play
This afternoon our children in Reception acted out the Christmas Story. Their acting skills were fantastic and the singing was beautiful. It has helped us to all think of the true meaning of Christmas. It was wonderful to be joined by so many family members.
